Washington, D.C. (March 3, 2021) – As Congress moves forward with the next Coronavirus relief package, the National dota2(江苏)决赛下载v1.6版 Coalition has endorsed The Emergency Relief for Farmers of Color Act, a vital bill that will lead our agricultural system to a more equitable recovery.
In a letter to Senate leadership, the National dota2(江苏)决赛下载v1.6版 Coalition urged the inclusion of provisions from the Emergency Relief for Farmers of Color Act in the Senate Covid-19 relief package. The Coalition applauds the bill’s Senate sponsor, Senator Reverend Warnock, and cosponsors Senators Booker, Luján, and Senate Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Stabenow for their leadership on this legislation, and House Committee Chairmen Scott and Bishop for their efforts to secure inclusion of this bill in the House package. “The challenges resulting from long-standing discrimination faced by farmers of color have only been compounded since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Martín Lemos, Co-Executive Director. “Targeted, impactful relief that prevents BIPOC farm business loss through debt, land loss, or inequitable program implementation at USDA is an absolutely vital part of addressing the current moment and rebuilding our agricultural system for the future.”
