Payge has spent the past two years learning from Michigan organic farmers as a farmhand and agroecology student. Her time spent in the soil and her research on food insecurity have informed her passion for food sovereignty. She is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, where she studied Biology, Gender, and Sustainable Food Systems. Outside of work and activism, Payge can be found foraging for mushrooms, milking goats, or fermenting just about anything. She also works for Taste the Local Difference, a local food and farm media company in Michigan.
