Midwest
The Land Connection : TLC offers a classified section and map of farmland for sale and for farmers looking to buy land, as well as a farmland transition program to support those making that transition. TLC is based in the midwest and covers many states in that area.
Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service : MOSES offers several programs for beginning and transitioning organic farmers: (1) the Farmer-to-farmer Mentoring Program pairs experienced organic farmers with transitioning organic farmers, (2) the organic info line, (3) the Organic University offers full-day classes on topics relevant to organic production, (4) Farm Field days and workshops where you can tour farms and learn directly from organic farmers and (5) the MOSES Rural Women’s Project which provides networking, educational and media training opportunities for women ecopreneurs.
MOSES Land Link-Up : The Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service has a free online service in an effort to connect those looking for farmland with those looking to rent or sell.
LSP Seeking Farmers – Seeking Land Clearinghouse : An online listing, run by the Land Stewardship Project, for those seeking to rent or purchase land, and vice versa, in the Upper Midwest.
Illinois
Angelic Organics Learning Center Farmer Training Initiative : Angelic Organics helps urban and rural people learn from the local farmers. The program is led by farmers from the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT), and offers business planning, on-farm training, and mentoring.
The Land Connection : The Land Connection provides farmer training through a number of programs. The main training program is the Central Illinois Farm Beginnings course , a year-long course that helps students write business plans and get connected to mentors. Additionally, the Farm Dreams workshops is a series of one-off sessions that introduce community members to the possibilities of a farming career. The Land Connection also offer other workshop and field days, and this year will begin offering three-day intensive farmer trainings and the beginning of a farmer incubator program.
Indiana
Purdue Small Farm and Sustainable Agriculture Team : This division of Purdue University provides educational programs for those starting out in farming.
Iowa
The Farming Institute : Located in Solon, IA, the Farming Institute runs a two-month summer farming immersion program designed to give an intensive view of organic sustainable vegetable production with a balance of hands on, classroom and individual study.
Growers Supply CEA Hands-On Workshops : CEA workshops educate and inform attendees on a variety of sustainable growing opportunities and technologies through informative presentations and hands-on demonstrations. Workshops are offered in two locations, Growers Supply CEA Learning Center East in South Windsor, Connecticut and Growers Supply CEA Learning Center West in Dyersville, Iowa.
Iowa Network for Community Agriculture : INCA works to connect Iowa farmers through conferences and direct mentoring support for new farmers.
Iowa State Beginning Farmer Center : The Beginning Farmer Center, a service of Iowa State, provides resources and programs for new farmers
Iowa State University Farm On : An Iowa-based service for connecting beginning farmers to retiring farmers. Not just a list of locations, but provides services throughout the process. There is a fee for non-residents.
Iowa State Sustainable Agriculture Extension Office : This program of Iowa State University Extension provides training in sustainable agriculture and sponsors programs for farmers and the general public.
Practical Farmers of Iowa Find-A-Farmer : A free service that maps out existing land opportunities and allows beginning farmers to post their land needs. Requires a free registration.
Practical Farmers of Iowa New Generation : The Next Generation Program is designed to help PFI’s beginning farmer members, and to help farm families transition their farm to the next generation.
Sustainable Iowa Land Trust : The Sustainable Iowa Land Trust offers an informal list of SILT farms and farmers available for matching.
Women, Food and Agriculture Network : WFAN offers workshops and field days for all women involved in sustainable ag, including aspiring and beginning farmers. It also operates an on-farm apprenticeship program, Harvesting Our Potential.
Kansas
Cultivate Kansas City : Cultivate Kansas City works with new and experienced farmers to start, run, and improve their farm businesses. The J uniper Gardens Farm Business Development Program supports limited resource people and refugees in Northeast Kansas City in starting independent farm businesses.
Kansas Farmers Union : The Kansas Farmers Union is a general farm organization in Kansas with a focus on sustaining and supporting family farms and ranches. They offer a series of educational workshops, internships and a program under the National Farmers Union’s Beginning Farmer Institute.
Kansas Rural Center : The KRC offers a range of educational one-day workshops on various farming topics.
Michigan
ISLAND Farmer Residency at Maple Bay : The Institute for Sustainable Living, Art and Natural Design operates an incubator program designed to provide a farmer with the resources needed to start their own business. This is not a training program, but it is an opportunity for business development and personal learning.
Michigan Farmer to Farmer : F2F is a farmlink website serving the Grand Traverse Region in Northwest Lower Michigan that connects farmland owners who wish to sell or lease farmland with farmland seekers looking to buy or lease farmland in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, and Manistee Counties. The tool also links agricultural employers with job seekers. Farmer to Farmer was developed through a partnership between Leelanau Conservancy, Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, Michigan State Extension, and Taste the Local Difference.
Michigan Land Use Institute Get Farming! : The Michigan Land Use Institute connects farmers to farmland through a farmland exchange database, and offers business resources, workshops and events.
Michigan State University Organic Farmer Training Program : This organic farmer training program is a 9-month intensive. The program emphasizes student learning through hands-on farm management and decision-making.
The North Farm at the Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center : The North Farm, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is a Michigan State University operation that includes a farm incubator program (the Apprentice Farmer Program) that provides land, equipment, infrastructure access, and technical assistance to those interested in starting a farm, as well as extension and outreach programming on a variety of topics linked to sustainable agriculture.
Tillers International : Tillers International offers a range of courses and programs on sustainable farming and homesteading, as well as program internships.
Tilian Farm Development Center : Based in Ann Arbor, the Tilian Farm Incubator Program provides land access for beginning farmers in a multi-year program that includes on-site support and educational opportunities. Farmers have the opportunity to start their own businesses before transitioning to their own land.
Minnesota
Lake Superior Farm Beginnings
: Lake Superior farm Beginnings is part of the Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association. It is a year-long program that provides beginning and transitioning farmers with training in values clarification, goalsetting, whole farm planning, business plan development, and low-cost, sustainable farming methods.
Land Stewardship Project Farm Beginnings : Farm Beginnings provides opportunities for beginning and transitioning farmers to learn about values clarification and goal setting, whole farm planning, business plan development, and low-cost, sustainable farming methods.
Minnesota Farm Link : The Minnesota Farm Link program is a web-based tool designed to link farmers and farmland. The MDA’s website also features the Beginning and Transitioning Farmer Information, a clearinghouse of programs and services for all types of farmers, which includes farmers seeking land, financial assistance and loans, farmer education, legal services, multi-cultural programs, networking, mentoring and transitioning, and succession planning.
Minnesota Food Association Big River Farms Training Program : Big River Farms focuses its training on immigrant and minority farmers. Class topics include production, marketing and operating a farm business. Winter classes are held weekly in St. Paul, and trainings during the growing season are held at Big River Farms or on other nearby farms.
Missouri
EarthDance Farms : EarthDance Farms is an organic farm school offering a 5 month, part-time apprenticeship program.
Growing Gardeners Training Program : Growing Gardeners takes full-year apprentices – both paid and unpaid – at their Kansas City facility. They also run monthly workshops and other educational opportunities.
Jefferson Institute : The Jefferson Institute, in addition to its 67-acre educational farm, runs programs for local farmers, with an emphasis on crop diversification.
Missouri Beginning Farmers : Run by the University of Missouri, the Missouri Beginning Farmers effort offers a number of online resources, including a number of free webinar series through its Beginning Farmers Online Community.
Nebraska
The Center for Rural Affairs : Nebraska’s Center for Rural Affairs offers resources specifically for new farmers in Nebraska.
Community CROPS Growing Farmers Program : The Growing Farmers Program provides training, technical assistance and land access to beginning, immigrant and limited-resource farmers. They offer a Growing Farmers Workshops series, and a 3-year, land-based training program at Sunset Community Farm. Beginning farmers begin producing on 1/4 acre, and receive access to water, tools, equipment, and ongoing technical assistance and marketing support.
Farm Beginnings Nebraska : Farms Beginnings Nebraska is part of the Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society. Farm Beginnings Nebraska is a farmer-led, community based training and support program aimed at getting more farmers on the land farming sustainably. Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture : The College of Technical Agriculture, a division of the University of Nebraska, has full course catalog of courses in agricultural sciences.
University of Nebraska EDGE Program : University of Nebraska, Lincoln’s EDGE (Enhancing, Developing, and Growing Entrepreneurs) program has a number of business courses available, including those for starting farmers.
Women, Food and Agriculture Network : WFAN offers workshops and field days for all women involved in sustainable ag, including aspiring and beginning farmers. It also operates an on-farm apprenticeship program, Harvesting Our Potential.
North Dakota
Foundation for Agricultural and Rural Resources Management and Sustainability (FARRMS) :FARRMS empowers people to dream and realize those dreams creating thriving, exciting, diverse, and sustainable rural communities. We establish links between people, good food, living farms and the environment through hands-on educational experiences. We model sustainability by acting with appreciation and respect for the environment, society, and just economics. FARRMS builds a better world through powerful, creative actions. FARRMS offers Learning Circle programs, micro loan and grant programs, and internship opportunities.
North Dakota Farmers Union : The Farmers Union provides a variety of services for North Dakota farmers, including educational programs for farmers and ranchers.
Ohio
Countryside Conservancy FarmLink : A listing of land opportunities in northeast Ohio. Requires a $10 registration.
Heartbeat Learning Gardens : The Heartbeat training program helps aspiring farmers learn skills, gain confidence, and meet others as they prepare to manage a small farm of their own. The program can be completed in 3-6 months.
Innovative Farmers of Ohio : The Innovative Farmers of Ohio works with the state’s farmers to become more ecologically and economically sustainable.
Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) : OEFFA connects Ohio farmers with local consumers and food activists, promoting sustainable food systems. For young and beginning farmers looking for land and job opportunities, OEFFA operates an apprenticeship program, which helps to link experienced growers with beginning farmers. The organization regularly posts job and land opportunities in their quarterly newsletter, on social media, and on an email listserve; and offers an annual conference and other events that facilitate networking and information-sharing about these opportunities.
Ohio State Extension Offices : OSU’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has a large network of extension offices that will work with new farmers in their area.
South Dakota
Dakota Rural Action, Farm Beginnings : Dakota Rural Action Farm Beginnings is a farmer-led training and suppport program that provides training in lowcost, sustainable methods of farming. Participants can be any age, and do not need to own land.
Wisconsin
Kinstone Academy of Applied Permaculture : Kinstone offers introductory and advanced Permaculture design courses, short courses on plants and earthworks, as well as hands-on natural building workshops
Michael Fields Agricultural Institute : The Institute offers an introduction into biodynamic and organic agriculture through workshops and online materials.
School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers : The School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers provides the experience and skills needed to get started in raising pasture-based dairy and livestock.
Southwest Badger RC&D Grazing Broker : The Grazing Broker connects landowners with livestock producers in Southwest Wisconsin. Grazing Broker also offers grazing plan writing; guidance on rental contracts for grassland acres; assistance determining fair market value of grasslands; and workshops on whole farm planning, grazing management, and contract grazing.
University of Wisconsin Extension Emerging Agricultural Markets Team : The EAMT works to connect beginning farm entrepreneurs with development projects and trainings in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Farm Center : A program of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, the Farm Center offers a Land Link program and other resources for beginning farmers.

Connecticut
Community Farm of Simsbury: The community farm of Simsbury is an organic-certified incubator farm, providing inexpensive farmland as well as resources and trainings for beginning farmers.
Connecticut NOFA : CT NOFA has a beginning farmer program, a journeyperson program, provides advice and several beginning-farmer-focused workshops over the course of the year, and is developing an apprentice-matching program.

Massachusetts
Beginning Farmers Network of Massachusetts : BFN/Mass is a collaborative network of farmers and farm service providers with such resources as a state-wide farmer resource map, a referral network, a jobs directory and other helpful information.
The Carrot Project : Provides 1:1 business assistance , training , webinars , and access to financing for beginning and early stage farmers and agricultural businesses in Southern New England and the Hudson Valley of New York.
The Farm School : The Farm School’s tuition based, Learn to Farm program blends classroom and field instruction in vegetable crop production, livestock management, business planning, product marketing, and a variety of practical skills including carpentry and welding. Must be college age or older to apply. Give a year and you’ll get the skills for a lifetime of farming!
The Food Project Winter and Summer Institute : A three-day training for activists, teachers, and youth development workers that focuses on how to engage with teens on food justice education. Learn from an inspirational group of staff and teens about their work at the Food Project in Boston, MA and look at how it can inspire new approaches in your own organization.
New Entry Sustainable Farming Project : New Entry provides opportunities for economically disadvantaged farmers, and offers services for beginning farmers such as accessing farmland, training, and business and enterprise development.
Nuestras Raices : The farm/La Finca rents small plots of land (1/4 acre – full acre) to beginning farmers, and provides them with small loans, training, shared resources, and market assistance. Beginning farmers build the necessary capital, knowledge, and connections to graduate from the incubation site onto their own farm.
Tufts University’s Sustainable Farming Project : Tufts has a number of new entry training programs, including exploring farming, business education, technical programs, and marketing assistance.”
Maine
Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) : MOFGA has several programs to help beginning farmers: (1) the Farm Apprenticeship Program, (2) the Journeyperson Farm Training Program, which provides mentorship, technical assistance, and business planning, and (3) the Organic Farmer Loan Fund.
Stone Soup Institute : The Stone Soup Institute in Harpswell, ME offers semester programs in agrarian arts. Areas include horse power, logging, gardening, animal husbandry, blacksmithing and fiber arts, and fine arts.
Wolfe’s Neck Farm : Wolfe’s Neck Farm is a nonprofit organization in Freeport, Maine dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture, education, and outdoor recreation while preserving its 626 acres of open space and historic buildings. This working saltwater farm includes hundreds of acres of forest, saltwater marsh, pasture lands, over four miles of Casco Bay coastline and an award-winning oceanfront campground. Wolfe’s Neck Farm’s educational programs include a summer day camp, sustainable living classes, field trips, Farm School and its Teen Ag Program. It hosts annual barn dances and farm festivals as well as growing vegetables and pasture-raising chickens, turkeys and lamb for the local community. Open free to the public year-round, the Farm encourages visitors to explore its miles of hiking trails, meet the animals in the barn, explore the organic gardens and enjoy the open space.
New Jersey
NOFA New Jersey : The New Jersey branch of the Northeast Organic Farming Association offers beginning farmers courses as well as other workshops for farmers.
New York
Alfred State College : Alfred State College’s Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture has a number of multi-day courses in sustainable agricultural production as well as online and campus-based resources.
Catskill CRAFT : CRAFT provides opportunities for beginning and established farmers to connect and learn from each other by offering their time, talents and experience. CRAFT provides farmer-to-farmer learning and access to the social network and culture of local farmers.
Farm Catskills : In its “Growing New Farmers” programs, Farm Catskills offers both a paid farm internship program and a New Farmer Incubator.
Farm School NYC : Farm School NYC provides training in urban agriculture, and works to increase the self-reliance of communities around issues of food access.
Glynwood Hudson Valley Farm Business Incubator : The incubator, located on more than 300 acres of historic farmland owned by the Open Space Institute in New Paltz, NY, accepts applications for livestock, vegetable, value-added, or mixed/diverse enterprises. Incubator participants are provided with access to land, housing, shared equipment and infrastructure, farm and business mentoring, technical classes and peer learning opportunities. After successfully completing the program, graduates may have the opportunity to transition to long-term land tenure accessed with the assistance of Glynwood and project partners such as OSI.
Grow NYC FARMroots: The New Farmer Development Project (NFDP) educates and supports immigrants with agricultural experience by helping them establish small farms.
Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming : Groundswell, located in Ithaca, NY, provides access to land for marginalized people and education that merges sustainable farming practices and social justice. At our 6-acre incubator farm, we offer affordable land access, equipment, hands-on training and mentorship.
Hawthorne Valley Farm Beginnings Program : Hawthorne Valley Farm Beginnings offers a business planning course, Field Days on sustainable farms, and mentoring sessions for both new and practicing farmers. The program uses materials from the Land Stewardship Project and Angelic Organics Learning Center.
Hudson Valley Farm Hub : A non-profit for resilient agriculture located in Hurley, NY. The ProFarmer Program is a multi-year, salaried, residential training program for those with farming experience who aspire to own or manage a farm enterprise in the Hudson Valley. Working under the mentorship of Jean-Paul Courtens, Director of Farmer Training, ProFarmers gain experience in a hands-on learning environment on one of the most productive and beautiful tracts of farmland in the region.
Hudson Valley Farmlink Network: A partnership of 15 organizations, coordinated by American Farmland Trust, offering the Hudson Valley Farmland Finder website, workshops, training and networking events, and one-on-one assistance for farmers and landowners.
NOFA-NY : The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York s an organization of farmers, gardeners, and consumers working together to create a sustainable regional food system. Through demonstration and education, NOFA-NY promotes land stewardship, organic food production, and local marketing.
Poughkeepsie Food Project : PFP’s City Seeds program is an intensive educational opportunity for new farmers.
Rockland Farm Alliance : New City’s Rockland Farm Alliance has a range of educational opportunities from one-day farm trips to season-long internships.
Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture : Stone Barns offers both unpaid farm internships and longer-term apprenticeships for aspiring farmers.
Unadilla Community Farm : Unadilla Community Farm offers a permaculture internship. In 2022, they are partnering with the dota2(江苏)决赛下载v1.6版 Food Safety Fellows to offer FSMA certification for all interns, a federally-recognized food safety training that is required by law for many farms, to equip interns with the skills they need to manage a farm or start up their own.
Watershed Agricultural Council : The Watershed Agricultural Council supports working landscapes through several programs, including the Catskill CRAFT, a Farm to Market program that includes farmer training, Catskills FarmLink and Pure Catskills, a buy local program.
Westchester Community College : Westchester Community College offers a Certificate in Sustainable Vegetable Production, with classes held at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights, NY. The program consists of 45 hours of core courses, 18 hours of electives, and 16 hours of community service at the Farm, for a total of 79 hours.
The Youth Farm – Urban Farm Training Program : A part-time apprenticeship (either six or eight months long) on the Young Farm in Brooklyn, which also includes formal education, field trips, and independent projects. Participants will receive a Certificate in Urban Farming.
Pennsylvania
Delaware Valley University : The Organic Farming Program is a 36-credit, one-year certificate program offered through a partnership between Delaware Valley University and Rodale Institute. The program can lead to a rewarding career producing food in a way that restores, maintains and enhances the natural world. Courses in the certificate program may be applied toward bachelor’s degree programs in agriculture at DelVal for those who decide to continue their studies.
Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture : In addition to a number of educational trainings and a conference, PASA works with sustainable farmers in consumer outreach, community building, and food system advocacy.
Penn State Agriculture Marketing : Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences offers a plethora of information for new farmers in the Pennsylvania region.
Penn State Extension : Beginning farms can take a number of courses through Penn State Extension, from introductory farm planning to poultry management.
Rodale Institute is growing the regenerative organic movement through rigorous, solutions-based research, farmer training, and consumer education. Since 1947 the Institute has been leading the way in connecting soil health, human health, and planetary health. Rodale Institute internships and training programs are paid or can be taken for college credit. Limited housing and produce from the farm may also be available.
The Seed Farm of Lehigh County : An agricultural incubator program for the establishment of new sustainable farms, supported by the county of Lehigh.
Rhode Island
Southside Community Land Trust : The SCLT, in addition to running a number of programs for schoolchildren and other youth, operate the Urban Edge Farm, a 50-acre business incubator farm for new farmers.
Northeast Organic Farming Association of Rhode Island : NOFA/RI is an organization of farmers, consumers, gardeners, and environmentalists working to promote organic farming and organic land care practices. They provide advanced organic growing seminars, organic farm advisors, CRAFT workshops, and a bulk order for organic farming supplies.
Vermont
Intervale Farms Program
: The Farms Program removes the start-up barriers that typically challenge new farmers by leasing land, equipment, and storage facilities to small independent farms. Each year, between one and three new farm businesses join the program as incubators.
University of Vermont Farmer Training Program : The UVM Farmer Training Program is a 6-month educational training opportunity for aspiring farmers. Participants work with current Vermont farmers to manage a sustainable small-scale vegetable operation, and receive instruction both in the classroom and on field trips.
Rutland Area Food and farm Link New Farmer Initiative : RAFFL works to link new farmers with the resources they need to build successful farms. They link beginning farmers with business planning and technical resources, and advocate for training sessions in the Rutland area. They also host mixers for new farmers to meet and network with each other.
UVM Women’s Agricultural Network : University of Vermont’s WAgN program provides technical and educational support to Vermont’s women farmers. Educational opportunities include extended courses, one-day workshops, and local informal learning circles.
NOFA-VT Apprentice and Willing Worker Program : This program, independent of the WWOOF network, produces an annual directory of Vermont farmers looking for interns and apprentices. The program also includes one-day intern workshops and trainings.
Vermont Tech : The Vermont Tech Institute for Applied Agriculture and Food Systems offers courses and extended programs to teach practical, hands-on techniques in diversified agriculture ranging from vegetable, fruit and berry production to dairy herd management to technical skills such as meat-cutting and welding.
South/Mid-Atlantic

Alabama
Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network : ASAN’s Farmer-to-Farmer program links experienced producers to new farmers for one-on-one training, business planning, workshops, and other mentoring opportunities.
Arkansas
Foundation Farm School : Each year, the Foundation Farm School admits up to 4 trainees who are interested in establishing their own farm in the near future. The program teaches the skills and tools to start a successful farm. Classes cover the cultivation, marketing and financial aspects of running a farm.
Delaware
Future Harvest CASA : year-long program has trained motivated aspiring or transitioning farmers since 2009. The program provides both classroom instruction and shoulder-to-shoulder on-farm training for beginning and transitioning sustainable farmers in the Chesapeake region.
Florida
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University New and Beginning Farmer Training Program : The Farmer training Program is designed to equip new and beginning farmers in Florida with knowledge, skills and tools needed to start successful farms. The main goal of the project is to use the basic business development model and apply it to agriculture operations.
Florida Organic Growers (FOG) farmer workshop series : The goal behind these workshops is to promote sustainable and organic farming methods such as farm planning, sustainable soil management, sustainable pest, disease, and weed management, food safety, marketing, and more. These workshops create a meeting place for the sharing and exchange of ideas among farmers and researchers. FOG also hosts a Food Justice Study Group for local residents in Gainesville and its surrounding communities.
Georgia

Central Carolina Community College Sustainable Agriculture Program : CCCC’s Sustainable Ag program is designed as a two-year program, includes classes in soil, plant and animal science, practical gardening skills, biological pest management, sustainable livestock management, greenhouse design and agricultural marketing.
Elma C. Lomax Incubator Farm : Located in Concord, NC, the Elma C. Lomax Incubator Farm is the only certified organic incubator farm in the Southeast. It is a training-ground where beginning farmers can gain access to land and equipment to start their own farm business.

Rural Resources : Rural Resources is a non-profit organization in East Tennessee that aims to connect farms, food and families through hands-on learning opportunities. Our 15-acre farm serves as a year-round demonstration, classroom and training center. We invite area high school students to join our Farm & Food Teen Training Program, which involves youth in growing and cooking food as well as initiating businesses with skills they learned through the program. Farmshare Austin : A nonprofit dedicated to providing communities with healthy food, the program uses a blend of hands-on in-field training and formal classroom education to provide students with practical knowledge and experience in organic and sustainable growing methods. Students live and work on a seven acre organic farm in an intensive four-and-a-half month immersion learning experience.

Allegheny Mountain Institute : The Allegheny Mountain Institute’s funded 18-month Fellowship prepares and empowers individuals to become teachers and ambassadors for a more vibrant and accessible local food system. SnoValley Tilth : T he Experience Farming Project (EFP) is a program of SnoValley Tilth, an organization run by farmers and dedicated to growing more farmers and more food and fiber in the Snoqualmie and Snohomish Valleys. EFP gives new farmers with some previous farming experience a piece of land between a 1/4 acre to 1.5 acres at a reasonable lease rate as well as tractor work, access to shared irrigation and post-harvest infrastructure, and a connection to a more-experienced farmer mentor nearby.

Thurston Conservation District’s South Sound FarmLink Program : Through our farmland leasing database, farmers looking for land have access to landowners with land for lease or purchase. Conservation District staff work with landowners and farmers to help create agreements and navigate partnerships in order to keep farmland in production. South Sound FarmLink also puts on regular educational workshops to help farmers establish their operation and landowners plan for the future of their property.
